Sarah Reed '10
Sarah Reed hails from Austin, Texas and graduated from TCU with a BFA in Graphic Design in May 2010. As a legacy to her alma mater, Sarah wrote and illustrated an alphabet book called The ABC's of TCU, which was released in October 2011 by Mascot Books. From "C is for Clark Brothers" to "R is for Rose Bowl," each letter represents a unique landmark or something special at TCU.
Sarah hopes that her book will spark an interest with other Horned Frog alumni, the Fort Worth community and young readers alike. Her goal was to illustrate what it means to be a Horned Frog in the twenty-first century and how change and growth have transformed TCU into a nationally acclaimed university. She also believes that introducing the possibility of college to both children and adults, especially at TCU, is a concrete way to lay the groundwork for future college plans. And of course, Sarah wanted a way to share her purple pride with others ("P is for purple, our lifeblood, our passion! On TCU's campus, it's always in fashion!").
Besides continuing her career as an author and illustrator (she's already brainstorming ideas for another children's book), Sarah currently works at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida as a Communications Associate for Disney's Hollywood Studios. She is incredibly proud to work at the place "where dreams come true" and loves being a part of the magic, whether designing logos or sharing messages and park updates with her fellow Cast Members. Sarah is also a U.S. Figure Skating Senior/Gold Test Medalist and skates in her spare time.
The ABC's of TCU is available at the TCU Bookstore. You can follow Sarah on twitter @SarahReed2010.
