madi_sandersNAME & GRADUATION YEAR:
Madi (Reid) Sanders – December ‘12

WHO YOU ARE:
I am a wife and entrepreneur with a passion for serving couples during their season of engagement.

BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT SINCE GRADUATION:
Aside from the start of my marriage, my greatest accomplishment has been the launch of my Wedding Planning and Event Design business, Madison Sanders Events.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A TCU ALUMNI:
I love that I graduated from a University that still supports and encourages students in all of their endeavors. TCU fostered some really incredible relationships for me that have continued years after my time on campus. My couples also come from all over the United States and many times have either attended or have a friend that attended TCU which makes for some really fun connections during their planning process!

FAVORITE MEMORY WHILE IN SCHOOL AT TCU:
My favorite memories at TCU include involvement with Frog Camp, Zeta Tau Alpha and of course the traditions during the Christmas season.

WHERE CAN YOU BE FOUND ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON:
Saturday afternoons are “game time” in my world! At this time I am usually directing wedding vendors and putting the finishing design touches on an event venue for a client’s reception before I head over to the ceremony site to send a bridal party down the aisle.

While at Texas Christian University, I studied Strategic Communications and Business. Following graduation, I returned to my hometown of Kansas City and began working in corporate event planning while planning weddings on the side. With a heart for making things happen and a driven spirit, I was soon able to move to serving my incredible clients in wedding planning full time. Madison Sanders Events was launched in January 2015 and my calendar quickly filled with local and destination weddings for the upcoming season.

I am passionate about strong marriages, the legacy of family and good ‘ol southern hospitality. I believe handwritten notes and some fun gift wrap can go a long way to make a friend feel special and fresh flowers will suit any occasion. Most days you’ll find me wearing a combination of my signature black + white attire, but I hold firm to my belief that “Women who wear black lead colorful lives”... as quoted by Neiman Marcus.

I am strong in my faith and have stories to prove it. God has done some incredible things to teach me about finding beauty in the ashes and I am quick to share the struggles and growth I am blessed with each day. A huge turning point in my walk with Christ was the passing of my father in May 2012 after a 2.5 year battle with cancer. While there isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t miss my dad, God has been sovereign and faithful through each and every piece of this story. I reside in the suburbs of Kansas City with my husband, Bret Sanders, and our black lab pup named Avery May. I often join my husband on his house-flipping projects and am currently working with a team to open an event venue in Kansas City (set to complete in May 2015). In my “free time” I enjoy a night out for a great meal and live music.
