WHO YOU ARE:
My name is Callie Salls. I’m an Austin native, TCU Alumni, newlywed and owner of two local personal chef businesses. I could live on dim sum alone, adore traveling and I’m very passionate about cooking. I take pride in cooking nutritious, beautiful and well-seasoned dishes incorporating “whole foods,” organic and non-GMO produce and pantry items, and proteins that are humanely and sustainable-raised. I believe what people put in their bodies and the bodies of their children is integral to a long, healthy life.

BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT SINCE GRADUATION:
After graduating with a Journalism degree from TCU, I decided to attend culinary school. I think my biggest accomplishment was leaving the restaurant industry as a night cook and starting my own business without much money, guidance or business experience. I worked three jobs and lived on a tight budget but networked relentlessly to gain the clientele we have today. Currently, my team of chefs including myself cook for approximately 80 local families a week in Fort Worth, Mid-Cities and Dallas.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A TCU ALUMNA:
I fell in love with Fort Worth 13 years ago and think we are so lucky to be in such a thriving town. My favorite part about being a TCU Alumni is fostering new relationships with other entrepreneurs and small business owners that I met while back in school. I think the most integral part about growing personally is to never stop learning from others.

FAVORITE MEMORY WHILE IN SCHOOL AT TCU:
Meeting my husband Allan in 2004! I was hanging out with my roommates at the Pub during final dead days and we met over pitchers of beer and pool. I’m wondering how many TCU marriages began this way... Dave, any insight?

WHERE CAN YOU BE FOUND ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON:
On a patio sipping bubbles and lunching with my husband. Last Saturday we had a delicious late brunch at Press Café—I’m a carnivore but adore their veggie burger. Dining out or cooking with friends is definitely one of my love languages.
