Nick Meyer '09
Nick Meyer's company, Nisolo — meaning "not alone," — was founded after Nick and the team spent 2+ years in Trujillo, Peru working with Sinergia, a non-profit microfinance organization through Peru Mission.
Nick, a 2009 TCU graduate, was introduced to the idea behind Nisolo by Patrick Woodyard, who also spent time working at Sinergia. Along with Patrick and Zoe Cleary from Southern California, Nick has developed Nisolo, which imports high quality handmade leather shoes and products from Peru. The basis of the business is to provide impoverished entrepreneurs in communities around the world with access to new markets. The goal is to provide long-term, sustainable growth by supporting job creation and access to quality education through the sale of fashionable products. Through the purchase of fashionable and high quality products, the consumer can make a legitimate and long-term impact on individuals that simply need an opportunity to empower themselves.
Nisolo is currently on the road promoting and selling their initial product line, and will be in Fort Worth in early December. For more information on Nisolo, you can visit www.nisoloshoes.com or their facebook page at www.facebook.com/nisoloshoes.
