Ultimate Guide to a #TCUintheHouse Party

Join us for our LIVE #TCUintheHouse Party on Friday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m.

We may be physically distant right now, but we can still come together as a University community! Join fellow alumni, faculty, staff and students as we bring the Horned Frog family together in one place. Follow us on our TCU Alumni - Worldwide Facebook page for the event of the spring!

This page will give you all the resources you need to make sure your party is the best! Snap pics of all your party prep and share it with your Horned Frog friends on social media. Be sure to tag us, using #TCUintheHouse and #TCUtogether.

What to wear?

We've got the perfect purple for you to wear to the party - a commemorative #TCUtogether t-shirt. When you register for the #TCUintheHouse party, you can order a #TCUtogether t-shirt. Orders that were placed after May 13 will still be processed but your t-shirt will likely arrive after May 22.

Every TCU party needs a purple sip

Thanks to our resident mixologist Carolyn Crouch Phillips '09 she's curated our signature cocktail (and mocktail option) for the #TCUintheHouse Party - "The 1873". Here's the recipe:

"The 1873" Cocktail Recipe:

To make the simple syrup:
In a saucepan, heat equal parts sugar and water (2 cups of water and add in 1 ½ cups of sugar for a slightly less sweet mix). Stir and take off the heat once it dissolves. Steep your choice of spice or flavoring for 10-20 minutes, then strain the mixture. A favorite flavor to add to simple syrup is dried hibiscus tea leaves.

To make "The 1873":
Pour two parts gin, one part lime juice, and one part simple syrup into a glass or pitcher with your ice, shake or stir to incorporate. Pour into your serving glasses, top with Topo Chico (or your choice of sparkling water or tonic), garnish with blackberries, and a lime wedge. For a mocktail version, just swap the Topo Chico for the gin. Enjoy!

Wow everyone with cheese!

Thanks to our resident foodie, Evan Lane '18, we are sharing fun ways you can create the perfect charcuterie board for adults and kids. Check out Evan's how-to video here.
